Playtime Poppy Children’s Theatre offers arts education programs to children in classroom and community settings throughout each season. Dedicated to a lifetime love of theatre for all, Playtime Poppy also offers college scholarships.

    Arts education in the classroom

Through our education programs, we introduce 3rd graders to technical theatre behind the scenes of a live performance and engage 5th graders in the creation of a performance based upon classroom literature. We also offer matinee performances of each of our high school productions to K-5 classrooms and patrons with special needs.

    Programs for the community

Playtime Poppy loves to sing and dance and play. She visits our libraries regularly for Playtime with Poppy programs with pre-schoolers, supporting literacy and kindergarten preparedness initiatives.  Our Summer Theatre Adventure is a week-long theatre program for ages 7 -14 designed to immerse the cast and crew in theatre, culture and community.

    College scholarships

Providing scholarship support to high school seniors who have participated enthusiastically in theatre is near and dear to Playtime Poppy.  Area high school seniors with a love of the dramatic arts, whether onstage or working behind the scenes, are encouraged to consider applying for a Playtime Poppy College Scholarship. Read, print out and complete our Playtime Poppy Scholarship Application today.
