Playtime Poppy productions are appropriate for all ages.

This is the first high school production in Playtime Poppy’s 73rd Season.

In this unique, but still very recognizable version of the Jungle Book, young Mowgli must wrestle with what it means to be an adopted “Man Cub” among the animals of the jungle, some of whom welcome him, others who resent or fear him. By the end, Mowgli must use his connections to both the human world and the animal one to save himself and decide who he wants to be. This is a great play for all ages, featuring themes of belonging, family, and community. Our production will bring the jungle to life with masks, puppets, special effects, and surprises! Please note this is not the Disney version, but still a fun, family-friendly, production of this classic story.

Tickets are $5 for all ages and will be available at the door
or online at

“Playtime Poppy has created an enduring tradition of young audience members being exposed to the timeless tales and the magic of theater that grow up to become the performers and technicians for the next generation. They protect, provide, and ensure opportunities in theater for all students across Cedar Rapids.”
