Thank you!About 90, enthusiastic 3rd graders from Wright and Arthur elementary schools experienced Playtime Poppy and Washington High School’s Operation Backstage on Thursday. Students rotated through 9 hands on stations as they learned what happens “backstage” during a production—running the fly system, painting a backdrop, riding the Geni Lift, working in the scene shop, creating a makeup design, trying on costumes, running a spotlight, creating sound effects, and running the light board. Each of the participants in today’s program are invited to attend a free performance of Playtime Poppy and Washington’s production of “Harriet the Spy” next week. The general public may purchase tickets at crwashdrama.ticketleap.com or at the door. Operation Backstage is part of Playtime Poppy Children’s Theatre’s Arts-integrated Education program.

I have so many nice memories of taking my kids and my Girls Scout troops to Playtime Poppy! A wonderful treat for us and a wonderful theatre experience for all the students involved in each production. Life skills learned when working together too. <3
