Nicole Harvey is a native Cedar Rapidian who has always had a love for all things drama. The arts community is where she feels most at home and is thrilled to be a part of something as amazing and important as Playtime Poppy. Nicole is Jefferson High School Graduate, a member of Thespian Troupe 561 and was a part of the theater community while at UNI. Most recently she has been an active volunteer in the Kennedy High School Choir/Theater programs and sees firsthand how important the arts are to our young people, especially to her 2 boys. Nicole strongly believes that theater should be accessible for all and knows it has played a huge role in who she is today.
“Like so many others in our community, Playtime Poppy was my first exposure to theater. That ‘happy little ear of corn’ sparked my interest and helped me find my happy place in the world of theater. I have fond memories of attending shows with my family and getting to be involved with Poppy Productions during my time at Jefferson High School. Now, as a mom, I have the opportunity to watch my own child on the Playtime Poppy stage and see how he is inspiring others. It’s hard to put into words how amazing it feels to be a part of this inspiring and amazing organization.”
